Tuesday afternoon

Hello again, from the internet cafe on Robson. Believe it or not, there is Christian music playing in the background today .... absolutely soothing to my soul.
I did find out there is internet access at the hospital between the hours of 10 and 5 so after today, I will be using that more than this place. (save myself a toonie a day :) )
Updating you on Robert ..... last night he was in intense pain to the point they gave him something 3 times as powerful as morphine. It did bring it under control, but also made him feel a little strange, so he doesn't want to have to resort to whatever that was too often. As for his sleep patterns, they are totally messed up. He doesn't sleep well at night so is very tired and sleeps during the day. Which in turn leads to another sleepless night .... pray that this pattern gets switched around. I'll have to try to keep him awake for a day to see if that helps. Other than that, his physical condition appears to remain unchanged. His spirits are up and down, which is totally understandable. I sure do enjoy the times when he converses like his old self.
Tom left today. He decided to leave me with the car and flew back to PG, taking advantage of a great seat sale. Pray for us as we go into a long period of being apart, something we both are not looking forward to but realize its the way it has to be right now.
As you pray, continue to pray for a healing of the shattered bones, a healing of the damaged nerves, a restoration of more normal sleep patterns. Pray that he will be protected from discouragement and that faith and hope would begin to rise up within him. Thanks again, all friends who are supporting him and our family in prayer.
Chris

Dear Chris, Robert and family:
As always, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Romans 8:37-39
Heavenly Father, we lift this family before you and ask you to remember that they are more than conquerors, through Jesus because You love them so much. We are convinced that neither death, nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any other power...nor anything else in all creation will be able to seperate them from your love, that is theirs in Christ Jesus." MORE THAN CONQUERORS, we claim this especially for Robert, as you continue to heal his body and his spirit. Bring blessed sleep we also pray. Thank you Lord,in Jesus name. Ruth-Ann

Hi Chris and Robert, Hope those patterns of sleep soon revert to normal. I am happy that you are in Vancouver rather than in P.G. as far as care for your particular injury is concerned. Is there and Easter Seal house you could stay in Chris? Worth asking.
We lift you up to our Living God.

Deqar Chris and all,
I am joyful and expectant as I consider the canopy of prayer God has raised up over your family at this time. The burden we have is His, given to unite our hearts in seeking God's plan for your family. We give thanks to the Lord for He is good, and his covenant faithfulness to you endures forever. We are blessed as you share your faithfulness to your son with all of us. Thank you Lord for the transforming power of your presence in the life of this family, and the sure hope that they have. Brenda W

Greetings Dearly Beloved:
We thank you Heavenly Father for the speedy assurance that we are, in fact, being lead by Your Holy Spirit each evening when we pray for Robert and are led in ways not mentioned. Then the following day Chris puts forth the exact same things for prayer. I thank You Father that you are keeping your loving hand upon Robert in managing his pain: although in and to a frail human body it may not seem to be so. I look forward to the evidence of the pain decrease as continued assurance that Robert's body is healing. I thank You that You are about to change Robert's sleeping patterns to a more stable and familiar one. I thank You that there is internet service at a better rate for Chris. I thank You that Chris and Tom will be kept close to You in spirit and their gift of love for one another through Your Holy will, will bloom to a new depth. I trust that there will be more flight sales just for Tom to spend time with his beloved wife and son as You desire. What a priviledge it is to be such an intimate part of this precious family's life. Thank You. In Jesus precious and Holy name. Amen.

Dear Chris . . . we're back!
Was surpirsed to hear that Robert had been moved so quickly. I do believe that it is a good move. God is at work? My heart & prayers are with all of you each & every day. Will pray for peaceful nights for Robert and for pain control, also for strength and peace for yourself and Tom. Of course our wonderful daughter inlaw is always in my prayers. Was so good to talk to you while we were away, I'll call again soon.

Hello Robert, we found out what happened shortly before we left on holidays. You have been continually in our thoughts and prayers during our travels as you deal with this extreenly difficult time in your life. I don't have any great words of wisdom or nuggets of encouragement that could even come close to expressing meeting the great need you have right now for strength and faith. The thing that does comes to my mind is the passage in Job where his comfortors come and just sit there with him in the ashes in silence as he deals with his pain. We are sitting there with you Robert.
