Tom and I made it safely to Vancouver, arriving at about 9:30pm. Thanks to everyone who prayed for a safe trip. We went to the hospital this morning to visit Robert in his new home away from home. He seems to be settling in alright. Different medication seems to be keeping the pain more under control, although he still has some bad spells. The nurses that we've met so far seem good, and all the caregivers are working to get familiar with his case, and decide on the next phase of treatment. Being the long weekend, everythings progressing more slowly than it might normally, but we know it will all come together. Pray for wisdom for each of the doctors, physios, etc. as they decide on treatment for Robert.
Robert's spirits seem better than they were last week. He has had visits from a few few family members, and especially from Auntie Jan, who spent the most time, cheering him up, bringing him healthy snacks, and just being there.
It was wonderful for me to see everyone at church yesterday. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart for all your hugs, prayers, tears, cards, and gifts. I don't know what people do who don't have the family of God around them for support.
One not so good thing here is that the hospital does not have computer access like they did at UofA, and hotel internet is really expensive, so I am relegated to an internet cafe a little ways from the hotel. This means I'll likely be writing the blog during the afternoon, and will only be able to check it for comments once a day. But that's okay. Keep those encouraging comments coming, and I will see that they get passed on to Robert. Or write an old fashioned letter and mail it to him (address posted in previous blog).
Thanks again for your prayers.
Chris

Hi Robert; We are glad you are settling in alright.
We start school tomorrow. Brock grade 9, Tory grade7 and Adam grade 5. We went for a weiner roast tonight and saw a black bear, about a two year old one. It crossed the river in front of us and went up the hill across the highway. Dad says he probably knows a good berry patch up there.
We hope the new medications keep working well. We pray for you every day. Bye for now. With love from Brock, Tory and Adam
So glad the transfer & travel went well for everyone. We'll keep praying for you all, and we'll also come to Vancouver to see you! :)
What are the visiting hours for Robert?

Glad the transfer went well. please let Robert know that he is still in our hearts and prayers here at PCC. we haven't forgotten him. I hope that the meds continue to work okay.

First day on the Chesse Wagon Robert. Just thought i`d let know you know everything OK so far. Only about 20 on today. If that is all I have all year.... going to be a easy one.(Ya Right!) Having a house warming for Ryan after church on sunday. Can you imagine 50+ in his house. It`ll never be the same. His rat will go into hiding I`m sure. I`ll have to wear elastic bands around my pant legs. Hope you are doing well today and may you know the peace that surpasses all understanding. Love Judy
