Intro to the wheelchair

Today marked another big first as Robert was put into a hammock like affair and powerlifted up out of bed into a wheelchair. Sounds easy? Not even close. I feel like a worn out dish rag from watching the procedure from my comfortable chair. It was a painful, uncomfortable experience but Robert again demonstrated an amazing amount of courage and was able to tolerate the chair for close to 15 minutes, then endure the return ride back into bed. When all was said and done, he needed another extra dose of pain medication (I no longer use the words pain killer, because there really is no such thing), but another first has been accomplished, and the first time they say is always the worst. Anyways, thanks be to God for another step forward in the rehab process, as well as for skillful, caring physios and nurses.
Continue to pray for a cessation of pain ... Robert still needs a great deal of medication to keep that under control. Also, those good nights sleeps we've been praying for are just not happening yet ... keep knocking on that one. And of course for continued healing in his body. and for encouragement in his spirit. Pray for strength for me as well, and for the ability to keep giving Robert and the whole situation to God. And of course, don't forget to give thanks for all the good that He has done already.
