Off the unit

More progress today, as Robert made 1 1/2 hours in the chair, and we were able to go off the ward, down to the main floor, and outside into the sunshine. There aren't any beautiful places to sit, but hey, out on the sidewalk, in the sunshine (can't complain about Vancouver weather yet), we are happy. The day has been going well, with Robert having had not a bad sleep, and with the pain under control.
Yesterday we had another visit from the doctor from GF Strong, and he was extremely pleased with Robert's progress, and sees him being moved to GF alot sooner than originally forecasted. All thanks to God for that. Also, the physio has detected flickers in the right foot (the one with drop foot) as well as in his left quad muscles, and she says that's a very positive sign for the future. So we can all pray those flickers into full fledged firings .... what do you say?
So happy to be able to write positive reports after going through that seemingly endless period where there was no visible sign of change. I am so thankful to our Father for His love, and to all of you for your care and prayers. Bless you all.

Chris

God is amazing!! Keep up all the hard work too Robert. I have been recently reading through the old testament and was reading in Exodus the other day. Previously i had usually skipped over the six pages in Exodus on the building of the temple; however, i read through them and it showed me something about God's character. God is a God of specifics, he cares about every little detail, as is evidenced in the six pages, four chapters, of the description of Tabernacle and everything that is involved with that, Moses had to be overwhelmed. I am going to be praying for the specific things in your recovery process and i would encourage anyone else to also. I would also like to thank you Chris for posting the specific items that need prayer. I continue to hope and pray that you get better, even healthy enough to be our top penalty man in the church hockey tournament once again. All the best Robert.

It was so good to hear your voice the other night. Thanks so much! Your shoes are on their way to you. Yes, God is truly amazing and so are you. God has filled you with such perserverance and energy. That sun on your face must have felt wonderful. We know that your progress will continue to astound the doctors as they watch the Lord work on you! Love and prayers to both of you from the Gilmores.

We had a few tears here tonight, to read the good news! Tory says that there are two parts to your healing: what God is doing, and the hard work you have to do. Even though your sacrifice has been so great, I can't tell you, Robert, what the boys are learning because of what you are going through. What the enemy intended for evil, for hatred, for death, our wonderful Lord is turning to good. You are completely in His hands, surrounded by so many layers of prayer, love and faith. We are rejoicing with you, every step of the way. Love Shelene (and the gang)

PS: I'll have to talk to Colin about that penalty comment. Don't want the boys thinking penalties are GOOD things...
