Monday

Hi everybody. Back at the blog after a day of rest.
Robert spent some more time in the chair today, and was introduced to some new strengthening exercises for his upper body and one leg. We spent a little time off the ward as well, but he was getting really uncomfortable so headed back to the room. It's so great for Robert to get out of the room and to get some exercise, but there's a big price paid for a few hours afterwards in the form of more intense pain. Today was a bit worse that way, so the physio suggested cutting back on the time up. Pray that he will continue to grow stronger, and that the resulting pain from being up would recede.
It makes for a bit of a roller coaster of a day for me, as there's the joy in seeing him up and in a Tshirt and shorts, then the emotional pain of watching him back in bed once more in the vice grip of severe physical pain. I continue to need prayer for strength and stamina to endure the watching, which I know is nothing compared to what Robert has to endure.
There has been further testing of nerve and muscle function, and they have confirmed what we've already been told, that there is evidence of nerve damage talked about in previous blogs. Continue to pray for a healing of all nerve damage, as well as for the healing of the crushed bones in his right foot, and of course, the pelvis and lower back.
It was great to have a visit from Denise on Saturday. She came bearing gifts from Gilmores and Ellen, and we say a big thankyou to you for all of that.
Thanks again everyone, for staying strong in prayer. I thank God for all of you, and for the strength which He does give from day to day.

Chris

My Dear sister in Christ. Chris please remember that although your pain is extremely different than your sons, God is completely aware of the anguish that parents and siblings go through when a loved faces such a huge challenge. In that confession you will find new strength, solice and soundness of the mind of Christ. I love you very much and continue to pray, weep and pray more for your whole family. I pray that Robert will continue in the patience he needs for his recovery because it certainly has been soring! God's peace and deep refreshment engulf all of you tonight. In Jesus precious name. Amen. I send you a Hug.DM
