Monday

Today has gone by much more smoothly. Robert had a poor night, but thankfully, a better day. He sat on the edge of the bed (with support) for a longer period of time today, and was given a few exercises he can do while in bed, a few light weights, and some range of motion type exercises. The bladder infection seems to have calmed down, for which we're so grateful.
We had a quick visit from Gary and Susan Knolls who are on their way to Europe. It was really nice to spend a little time with them, so thanks for stopping by.
Continue to pray for Robert's complete healing, for his spirits to be positive, and for a good night's sleep tonight.

Chris

Dear Chris and Tom,
Though far apart, our thoughts and prayers are with Robert and his family. So glad Robert had his wits about him that fateful day, and know that God in his faithfulness will provide strength and healing. Was in Edmonton the day you flew out so missed you. Linda and Neal will stop in to visit in Vancouver. Thankyou for your blog, it keeps us informed and we can see the tiny improvements as they unfold. We will keep praying for strength, healing and courage for you all. Love Rosemary Martin and family

Rejoicing with you on the sitting up and the reduced bladder infection. These are great progress! And exercises too!

Dear Chris and Robert and family
Thank you for your faithfulness in doing the blog, Chris and Jen. We read it each morning for direction and know what is being sought that day. Although we are are not there in the flesh we are there in spirit each and every day in your moments of despair and confusion, we have sat with you when not knowing is more difficult than knowing and then faced with the powerlessness of not being able to save our child from pain and discomfort when they suffer.

Just think, when you are finally home, this blog will serve as a journal to seeing the healing and restoration of body, mind and spirit. We missed seeing you in Edmonton but are grateful you are in a perfect place right now...one of the best places in Canada for spinal injuries. Sending you our prayers on the feather tip of an angel...for a bladder that won't hurt, for strength and no dizzyness as you get to the side of the bed each day and then even further the next!! "Infinity and Beyond as Buzz Lighyear would say" Chin up and
Godspeed...there are more people rooting for you than you even know!

Hi Chris & Tom & Robert! I feel like I've been watching a game of life from the sidelines. It's your life Robert, and we have the privilege of being part of a huge cheering section. Times of sadness and disappointment, times of joy and excitement and long times of waiting and watching, trying to figure out what's going on. You know what's really neat? We are not powerless because we have access to our Creator God who made you, cares about every aspect of your life and loves you more than you can ever imagine! He has not abandoned you, nor will He ever - that's His promise guaranteed when He sent Jesus into this world to experience everything you and I will ever experience, and to break the power of sin and death! And yes, He is the greatest Doctor you will ever have taking care of you. I know this must be extremely difficult [I have never experienced what you are experiencing], but we know this, He is at work in your physical body healing you, even now as we pray and trust Him to do the impossible. That's His specialty! God brought this scripture to my mind as I am writing this letter of encouragement and it says best what I want to say, "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church [THAT'S US] and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever, AMEN! PTL!!!
Our love and prayers for you all, continue to be lifted up as God brings you to our minds so often, Ed & Dolores

Lavigne family,
We have been praying for all of you since Shelene returned to FSJ with the news of Robert's accident. School was just starting, so things have been a bit hectic, but I took the time to read through the blog site and get updated. It's wonderful to see the progress that has been made. In reading a chapter from Psalms each day I came across Ps. 18:25 - "To the faithful you show yourself faithful,". I can't begin to understand and/or imagine the "roller-coaster" each one in your family has been riding, but God desires us to walk in His faithfulness. Thank you for taking the time and energy to keep us informed. Robert, Mildred and Charles
