Once Upon a Monday

Hello everyone. Well I survived the weekend. Most of it was spent laying in bed watching t.v. I had several visitors on Saturday so that made the day a lot nicer. I did manage to escape the hospital once when I went to Safeway to restock on strawberries. This morning I had a urology appointment bright and early where I learned that everything is all good. In physio today I got to ride on a recumberant bicycle. I was pretty excited to get to be on a bike again. I rode for about ten minutes and afterwards my legs were like jello. I definitely need to be doing some more cardio cause I was huffing and puffing pretty bad. Pedaling was also an odd feeling since certain leg muscles aren't doing as much work as they should. The surprising part was that I wasn't in pain sitting on the bike. So now the therapist are scratching the heads trying to figure out why I can't sit in a wheelchair on stand comfortably when I can sit on a bike. So yeah that was my exciting news of the day. Hopefully I'll be able to use the bike daily now so I can be in top shape for next summer. Well Thats all I have for today.

Robert

Hey Robert; Glad to hear the good news on the bike. Hopefully, the therapists will be able to figure out why it's a good fit. Maybe they could hook up the TV to it, or something. ?? I was so happy to see your Mom and Dad at Mona's memorial yesterday; it was really a lovely service. Your Dad was his usual humourous self and kept things light. It was so interesting to walk through the doors of the community hall again; felt like home. Anyways, we pray for you and think of you and wait with excitement to hear when you get to go home. Keep pedalling. Love Shelene

Hi Robert! Sorry we haven't talked to you here lately. We continue to pray and read your blog. That is so like God to take the thing you enjoy the most and make it the thing that doesn't cause you pain. It was so good to see your Dad and Mom again and you've got a giant hug coming from us thru your Mom. We miss you! They gathered up all your stuff including your bike. So it will be waiting there for you when you go home. We keep praying that it won't be long and you'll be on it again. Keep up the good work! Love and prayers, the Gilmores.

Hi Robert,
Great to hear you are on a bike! Yes, there is no feeling like it. We were out for a short bike ride, Sunday. They completely repaved the Baldonnel TT course. No more patches. Got snow this morning, so no more outdoor biking for a while,
Best Regards, Pat and Blizz'z

Hi Robert, Just wanted to let you know that my little guy, Jason, still prays for you every night. He likes that your name is the same as his middle name. Have you by chance read the book "90 Minutes in Heaven"? If you haven't and you enjoy reading, you might want to check it out. There is alot of encouragement in there for someone who is recovering from major injuries and is in lots of pain. Anyway - good to hear things are progressing along. Take care.
