A Slow Day at the Office

Hello faithful blog readers...

Robert was very tired today and spent most of the day sleeping. He has started on solid foods but was so tired that it was hard to work up the energy to get it all down (plus it's hospital food...). He is in dire need of a good night's rest so if you get this before bed tonight, let's pray hard for that. It's awfully hard to keep positive and do all the things the nurses would like him to when he barely has the energy to talk.

Jen

PS Thanks to the Carmichael's for the visit today.

Hey, Robert; Just had a memory come back about the other night when I went in to pray with Adam. I went to lay down beside him, and he yelled, "Hey, don't lay there. That's where Jesus is laying."

Remember, He will never leave you nor forsake you. Just don't squish Him... Love Shelene

Bert!!!! It's Kristin. So so very sorry to hear about what you are going through. I tried to do a quick scan through everything and it sounds like you are just being your amazing self through it all. Keep up being so positive and I am praying for very very good sleep for you tonight.
If you didn't want to come to NE that badly you could have just said so. Things are moving along here, everything except my car that is as I've had it towed twice in a week - and by the same guy not on purpose. When he walked up the second time he just started laughing and said nice to see you again. Talk about embarrassing.
I am praying for you and your sleep and recovery and family. So thankful for your sister updating us.
Let me just leave you with this song (I know you want to sing it too).........There is no place like Nebraska good ole Nebraska U where the boys are the squarest, the girls are the fairest......

Have a good sleep Robert! There was a certain verse that I knew partly but when I went to look it up I couldn't find it but I did find this one. Psalms 4:8, David says" I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, Make me dwell in safety." I claim that verse to be yours tonight! Colin was glad to have a chance to visit you Robert even tho it was hard for him to see you going thru pain! He also enjoyed his visit with you Chris. Bless you all! Love and prayers, the Gilmores.

Dear Lavignes,
when I read the Cassidys mail about what happened I was shocked and started praying for you and Robert immediatly. Robert is blessed with a really great family and I know that God is watching over you and his recovery process. Keeping you on my mind and in my prayers, god bless you!
Yours Berit (from Germany)

Jen, As I sit in my office in Red Earth AB, I have tears running down my cheeks, I can not express how I feel right now,as the joy that is flooding over me to I know that our God is so great and caring. I see the caring sister(who used to bug Robert)being very concerned for him. I know that someday you will make a wonderful mom. Thank you Jen for all you have been doing, Wade must be very proud of you.
Robert, I have not yet been able to get to Baldonnel to ride the road for you, but I am working on it. I pray you have a great day and I know what it is like to spend 2 months in hospital. The nurses always make the stay enjoyable. Maybe Judy and I can come down for a quick visit on the long weekend. Take care buddy and enjoy your day.Bill C.

Hey Chris, Tom, Jen & Robert! Hard to put into words how much our hearts ache for you! You are constantly in our minds, hearts and prayers. I woke the other night and thought about HOW BIG GOD REALLY IS!! Imagine all the stuff that is coming in on His computer 24/7, and He can handle it all and He cares specifically for you every minute of every day. Jen we really appreciate your updates, you remind me of our daughter Heather who cares so much about her brothers that used to bug her to distraction. Lots of hugs and kisses from us to you all!
Love Ed & Dolores
P.S. We are thinking about coming up either Friday or Saturday for a short visit. Would that be OK?

Good Afternoon Lavignes;

I was going through my things today and I ran across this poem. It's one of my favorites and it is always such a great reminder that God IS always will us, no matter what is going on!

Footprints Poem

"One night a man had a dream.

He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord.

Scenes from his life flashed across the sky
and he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
one belonging to him and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life had flashed before him,
he recalled that at the lowest and saddest times of his life
there was only one set of footprints.

Dismayed, he asked, "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way.
I don't understand why, when I needed you most, you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious child.
I love you and I would never leave you.

During your times of trial and suffering
when you saw only one set of footprints...

That was when I carried you."

Today I pray that the Lord would carry you all through the trials and sufferings! May you feel comfort in the arms of our Mighty Father! I also came across a copy of the "Father's Love Letter". It was also so encouraging, and I wanted to share parts of it with you, and pray you're as encouraged as I was! :)

"I am able to do more for you
than you could possibly imagine.
Ephesians 3:20

For I am your greatest encourager.
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

I am also the Father who comforts you in all your troubles.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4

When you are brokenhearted,
I am close to you.
Psalm 34:18

As a shepherd carries a lamb,
I have carried you close to my heart.
Isaiah 40:11

One day I will wipe away
every tear from your eyes.
Revelation 21:3-4

And I'll take away all the pain
you have suffered on this earth.
Revelation 21:3-4

I am your Father, and I love you
even as I love my son, Jesus.
John 17:23"

In my Daily Study Bible, which is the New Living Version there's a verse that has helped me through tough time and it says...

James 1
"Greetings! 2 Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. 3 For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything... 12 God blesses the people who patiently endure testing. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him...17 Whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God above, who created all heaven's lights. Unlike them, he never changes or casts shifting shadows. 18 In his goodness he chose to make us his own children by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his most prized possession."

May the Lord bless you and be with you today and through the night, and may you feel his presences at all times!

Blessings,

--Chelsie :)
